The 1925 granite memorial designed by Emanuel Kodet commemorates the victory of Jan Žižka over feudal forces (some 2 000 knights) in 1420.
Heavy infantry, in an attempt to outflank the Hussites, moved across the drained Škaredý lake and became stuck in the mud.
